Four Tips For Managing Your Time

No matter how old you are or what stage of your life you’re in, managing your time has become something you can always improve on. The classic saying, “there aren’t enough hours in the day” is something we know all too well.

Every day your alarm clock rings, you get out of bed and get your day started. There aren’t enough hours in the day, that’s true but if you can learn to manage your time, you will be amazed at what you can accomplish on a daily basis. Here are a few tips to managing your time and prioritizing your work.

Buy a planner

This might sound obvious but a planner will change your life. By having something where you can write down your tasks, you will be less likely to forget them! It allows you to plan ahead and map out what is due and when. If you’re feeling extra ambitious, you can even color-code your planner! Assign different colors to different task categories, it’ll stick out more visually and allow you to easily glance at your planner throughout the day.

Do the most important task first

This might sound obvious but if you finish your more important task first, you will be motivated to finish all the other “less important” tasks in front of you.

Put your phone on do not disturb

Your phone can be your worst enemy when it comes to time management. One minute you’re checking the weather and the next you’re stalking someone you don’t even know on Facebook. Do not disturb mode will allow you to not be bothered with irrelevant calls, texts or notifications while you’re working. Who would’ve thought they’d create technology so you don’t use your phone!

Leave downtime in between tasks

After silencing your phone and ignoring the world around you while you work, it’s important to plan downtime in between each task. This will allow you to stay focused throughout the day. Try taking a short break to ease your mind and prepare to accomplish your next task!

By using these tips to manage your time, you will be able to create a stress-free work environment for yourself. If you can learn to manage your time, you can do anything!
