How to create your personal brand
By: Krystal Bradley
In marketing, it’s important to build a meaningful and personal brand. By building a personal brand, it allows people to connect your name with certain niches and it helps people to associate and understand what type of personality and character you have. Building a personal brand doesn’t happen overnight. It’s a long process that takes work and dedication to portraying an accurate representation of one’s authentic self over time. To help make sure you’re building your personal brand in a beneficial and valuable way, there are 3 things you can look out for.
-
Direction
Which field you would like to launch your career in and what do you enjoy doing? By figuring out where you want to go and what you enjoy doing, you can create content targeted at a specific audience you want to connect with. By figuring out what you like to do, the content will also be organic and authentic to your true self. By understanding what you like, you will take the content you create more seriously and put more thought into it.
2. Social Platforms
Figure out which social platform fits the type of audience you are trying to reach and connect with and also is right for you. If you try and build your brand on a social media platform you don’t like, doesn’t reach your audience, or you don’t understand, all your work will be for nothing. By selecting the right social media platform, you will save yourself time and it will help you create the best content possible. By finding a platform that suits you, you will be more motivated on the direction and type of your content you create and are sharing with the world.
3. Network
It’s important in the industry to build as many relationships as possible with others in your field and people you would consider leaders. By connecting with people in person and on social media, it will allow you to open more doors in the professional world and expand on future career opportunities. It will also allow you to meet people who share your interest; who you can then create content together with and expand into each other’s audiences with.
