I’m sure you’ve heard someone say “SEO” a million times. And if you haven’t I bet you’re probably sitting there thinking “What is, SEO, and SEO copy?

SEO stands for search engine optimization. The textbook definition of SEO is “A methodology of strategies, techniques, and tactics used to increase the amount of visitors to a website by obtaining a high-ranking placement in the search results page of a search engine including Google, Bing, Yahoo and other search engines.”

Integrating SEO copy into a website allows the website to show up higher in the search results when specific keywords found in the website copy are searched. SEO is important for so many different reasons.

It Drives Traffic

By including SEO copy in your company’s website, you’re allowing it to become even more searchable. The art of finding these keywords is simple and can be summed up in three words; Google Keyword Planner. This tool is apart of Google Analytics and allows you to search any word to see the average number of times that word is searched on a monthly basis.

The search can be narrowed down to the number of times a keyword is searched monthly by state as well. This is a useful tool when adding keywords to your website.

Headlines Make a Difference

If you have strong content on your site followed by weak headlines, it’s hurting your website more than you think. By creating strong headlines laced with SEO copy, Google will pick up on the specific pages of your website and bump them up in the search.

Your headline should convey a certain message and reel readers in by utilizing SEO copy. This way readers will be more inclined to read more.

It Must Be Effective

Now keep in mind, if you mindlessly stuff SEO keywords into your website’s copy, it will not be effective. These keywords must be strategically placed throughout the copy. By doing this, it will increase the traffic of your website and its search ranking.

SEO play a large role in creating content for your company and your overall company website. If you recognize the importance of using SEO copy then you will be on your way to more website visitors, possible leads and maybe even a few purchases depending on the product or service you’re selling!
